Crimes Against Honor

Crimes against honor occur frequently among people in a society and are often practiced in a simple way, but they affect people intimately and cause emotional pain, as they directly attack dignity, decorum and reputation. on behalf of the offended party is the criminal lawyer.

The offenses that characterize these crimes can be practiced in the most varied ways, as they can be made directly to the person (offended) through words and gestures, as well as being transmitted by means of communication (internet, television and others).  There are three crimes against honor: slander, defamation and injury.  Slander is the false attribution of a fact that is defined as a crime to a person, that is, it is when an individual tells a story claiming that another person committed a crime.

It is important to emphasize that the person who spreads the story, even if he did not give rise to it, but knowing that it is a lying fact, also practices the crime of slander.  Defamation is the attribution of a fact that offends the person's reputation. In short, it is the social opinion/evaluation that people have of others and that are said in public. In some cases, even legal entities may be victims of defamation. Finally, injury is undoubtedly the crime that most occurs in our daily lives, as it boils down to any offense that affects a person's dignity or decorum.  The offense affects the self-esteem, respect, value and morals of the individual, which is practiced through cursing/swearing, gestures and even writing, as long as they are directed only to the offended person.
